Privacy Policy

This website, lacyforjudge.com, is operated by the Ben Lacy for Judge Committee, 14249 May Ave N, Stillwater, MN 55082 ("the campaign," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information you give us

  • Sign-up form. Name, email address, ZIP code, and the ways you would like to help.
  • Volunteer sign-up. If you volunteer for an event, we collect your name and contact information through a Google Form.
  • Donations. Donations are processed by Anedot, our donation processor. Anedot collects your name, address, email, phone number, payment information, and your employer and occupation. Minnesota law requires us to collect employer and occupation information for contributions above certain amounts. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Email and messages. If you email or text the campaign, we keep the correspondence.

2. Information collected automatically

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages visited, time on page, general location, device type). We also use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our outreach on Meta platforms. These tools set cookies, including _ga, _ga_*, and _fbp. See section 7 for how to opt out.

3. How we use information

  • To send campaign updates and volunteer opportunities you asked for
  • To coordinate events and volunteer activities
  • To process donations and meet campaign finance reporting obligations
  • To understand how the website is used and improve it
  • To measure campaign outreach

We do not sell your personal information. Ever.

4. Campaign finance disclosure

Minnesota law requires the campaign to report contribution information to the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board. Depending on the amount you give, your name, address, employer, occupation, and contribution amount may appear in public campaign finance reports. This disclosure is required by law and is not optional for the campaign.

6. Email and text messages

You can unsubscribe from campaign email at any time using the link in any message. If you opt in to text messages, reply STOP at any time to stop receiving them.

7. Your choices

  • Analytics: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or use your browser's tracking protections.
  • Meta Pixel: adjust your ad preferences in your Meta ad settings, or use browser tracking protections.
  • Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them.
  • Access, correction, deletion: email us at info@lacyforjudge.com and we will honor reasonable requests to access, correct, or delete your information, except where we are required by law to keep it (for example, campaign finance records).

8. Retention

We keep supporter information for the duration of the campaign and as required by Minnesota campaign finance law. When records are no longer needed, we delete them.

9. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Donors must be at least 18 years old.

10. Links to other sites

This site links to third-party sites (for example, Anedot's donation page, Google Forms, and event pages). Those sites have their own privacy policies.

11. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
